These two are pretty much my favorite two people ever. Allie is actually a good friend of mine and when I saw her engagement session from Taylor Roades Photography, I knew I wanted to have it on our blog. Allie and Brock recently wed, but we still feel like our readers would love to see these photos and read their story!

We asked them:

How did you two meet, tell us your story:

Brock and I met through mutual friends in the summer of 2011. I instantly fell for Brock’s charming personality and fantastic sense of humour. After spending a few nights together at parties and summer events, I took off travelling for four months. We kept in touch here and there, and before I arrived back on Canadian soil I got a message from Brock telling me how excited he was that I was coming home soon. Once I made it back to Waterloo, Brock asked me out to dinner. He picked me up for our reservation at 7:00 p.m. and we didn’t leave the restaurant until after 11:00 p.m. I was fascinated with his stories of living abroad and he kept me laughing with his witty humour through our entire first date. After that I was smitten. A few months into dating we both knew we had found the person we were meant to spend the rest of our lives with.

Describe the proposal:

Brock and I went to Niagara Falls in November 2012 (a trip I planned and therefore was not suspicious about any proposal whatsoever). We arrived on the Friday, had a beautiful dinner and Brock wanted to take a walk around the falls after, however I was exhausted and told him I wanted to just go back to the room and relax. After denying this boy his first attempt on the proposal on the Friday, Brock and I took our walk around the falls Saturday afternoon. It was beautiful, such a perfect setting…except for the fact that there were other tourists EVERYWHERE. Poor boy decided that was not the proper time either and waited until after our dinner on Saturday night. We were walking in the rain (light drizzle really) on the way to the casino when he knelt down by a huge Christmas tree all lit up and asked me to marry him. It was perfect.

What do you love most about each other?

I love how thoughtful Brock is. He is one of the most genuine and caring people in my life. I also love that he makes me want to be the best version of myself. We have so much fun together in everything we do which we both think is extremely important.

What was your favorite memory from your proposal?

Favourite memory from the proposal was that it was raining out and I was being grumpy because I didn’t want to walk in the rain anymore. Little did I know the whole night was about to turn around!!
