We asked:

How did you two meet? tell us your story.

Since we were 6 years old, we have been in and out of each others lives. we passed each other in the school hallway as young kids, had mutual friends growing up, and were involved in the same church, but never actually “saw” each other. It wasn’t until I was 12, taking a tour of my new school when the principle, my mother, and I popped our heads into the art class. He was there, saw me, and gave me one of those haven’t-I-seen-you-somewhere looks. I took no notice and continued on. A couple of years later we attended the same high school and I had my eyes on him and only him for two years. It was my first big uncontrollable crush filled with sweaty palms, nervous laughter, and failed attempts at saying hello. I mustered up some courage to start a conversation and after a few months (which felt like years to me) of friendly chat, he asked me to go see a movie with him. Best. Day. Ever. We’ve seen a lot of movies together since then.

What do you love most about each other?

We are very different people. But that is what I love about us. It works for us. I love how everyday can be a surprise. We’re still learning and discovering things about each other which I think makes our relationship exciting. He may not understand my love of rain, but he’ll still let me run around in a rain storm. I’m not a fan of extreme heat, but I’ll gladly sit in the shade, smothered in sunscreen, and watch him melt his face off at the beach.
