From the photographer:
I absolutely had a BLAST with Mark & Rosalind! We had their session down in a trendy area of Calgary called 17th Ave. This area is filled with graffiti black alleyways, tons of cute coffee shops and many quaint mom and pop shops. Such a great area for these two to have their engagement session! They wee up for anything and that definitely showed in their session, by the huge smiles and the constant laughing that was going on with them but also by me from behind the camera! I loved every moment!
How did you two meet? Tell us your story!
We first met in junior high at a youth group, but didn’t really speak very much. I was better friends with his twin sister, so I just basically knew Mark though association as her bother. Then in grade 12, at an overnight camp, we found ourselves knee deep in mud during free time at the ever and decided to make a tribe and name it ‘eekidorkadukas’ (Mark’s suggestion). We continued to joke about this until the end of camp, but then lost touch again until the second year of university, when he joined the same life group as me. We stated joking around, had a few hellos in the hallway at school and eventually found out we had classes near each other, so he began walking me to class Eventually, April 16th, 2011, we both told each other how we felt and decided dating.
Describe the proposal:
We went to a friend’s birthday party and Mark had mentioned that there was supposed to be a meteor shower around midnight, so we should sneak out to go watch it! I assumed this was just because of his loved of astronomy. so we drove and dive and drive. Past Indus. Past Langdon. Anyways, he finally finds a dirt road and drives down that until he finally pulls over. So we get out of the car and he pulls a blanket out of the back seat, and lays it on the hood of the car. Im thinking “This is so cute! What a great idea! How romantic!”…still oblivious. So we lay down on the hood of the car, gazing at the stars, and he suggested we use the stars as a celebration!I asked what are we celebrating…And I’m pretty sure you can figure out what happened next. I laughed uncontrollably, both heats were pounding , we were shivering but weren’t cold and we listened to the sounds of cows mooing and watching shooting stars go across the sky.
