We had the pleasure of meeting Kati From LightSplash Photography when we attended the Bret Cole Workshops in Bodega Bay and since then have become a fan of her beautiful work. We like how she captures the love between couples in her weddings and engagement session and this one is no acception. We think its absolutely beautiful.
From LightSplash Photography about Alicia & Josh:
This isn’t a traditional engagement session! Alicia & Josh opted to do a post wedding engagement session in September, after their wedding in April, when the weather was still beautiful and fair. As I had never been to Napa (*gasp* I know) they decided to have their session at one of their favorite wineries, Truett-Hurst, an adorable smaller vineyard in Healdsburg, California. This vineyard creates world class wines using biodynamic farming principles, and their wines truly are delicious. There, we had a picnic of succulent fruit, delicious cheeses, and crusty french bread with some olive out soaked almonds out by the winding river that butts up against the back of the tasting room on ruby red adirondack chairs. We made a day of it.
Josh and Alicia have become dear friends since their wedding and I had no problem spending a day visiting, chatting about their 2014 year long trip, their wedding, and their wedding photos. From Truett-Hurst we moved on to Bella. Bella is adorable. The tasting room is set in an old barn and has surf boards leaning up against it. Coupled with big Oak trees, and calm winds, the area was just divine. Add in a corn-dog with wine tasting in a cave right next door and it was both a relaxing day and one of my favorite engagement sessions. No large complicated props, no fancy dresses, just two people in love and willing to share it.
They’ve since quite both their jobs and have taken a “gap year”. They plan on traveling around the world in 2014 and are currently in Asia. Along the way they’ll be volunteering and from what I understand, ending with Christmas in Austria.
