How did you two meet, tell us your story:
We originally met at a party freshman year of college. Fast forward 4 years later, we met again when I (Chris) was visiting a friend, who just so happens to be Annie’s roommate. After a night of playing Pictionary, a clumsy high five and a few laughs, we knew things were going to be off to a good start.
Describe the proposal:
It was a November weekend in Yosemite and the first snowfall of the year. I didn’t really have a proposal planned but figured I could pop the question on a hike through the wilderness, overlooking Yosemite Valley. Little did I know that tourists also hike the same trails in the winter and it was impossible to get some private time to ask the question. I waited until we got back to the cabin at night and after a quick dinner I ran back to the room and pulled out a photo book that I made of us and the past 7 years. Annie thinking it was just another book that was laying around the cabin didn’t think anything of it. Once she realized what I made, she was quite surprised. As she was flipping through the book the look on her face was pure shock and happiness. The book detailed the last 7 years of our relationship with notes and pictures of vacations, happy moments, and of course our dog. Little did she know that on the last page of the book was a picture of the engagement ring. As she flipped to the last page, I don’t think she recognized what the picture was immediately. As she put the book down, there I was on my knee with the ring, and that with when I asked her to marry me.
What was your favorite memory from your proposal?
(Chris’ perspective) Annie was completely surprised and wasn’t expecting me to pop the question.
(Annie’s perspective) Seeing the picture of the ring on the last page , and then seeing him on his knees with the ring proposing to me. I was in total shock. The greatest moment of my life!
What do you love most about each other?
If we were stuck on a deserted island we can entertain each other all day long without getting bored.
