How did you two meet? Tell us your story.
We met at a summer camp in Austria. Daniel from high up in the Alps – Zillertal and Miriam from Salzburgs flatlands. Two very different cultures. Miriam was 19 and Daniel was 15 but they did not know that at the start. It was love at the first “tone” – Miriam as a singer was totally smitten with Daniels artistic ways of playing the guitar and his politeness. Head over heals they fell in love for this one week and then a 2 year long-distance-relationship followed. Then he asked “The question” she said “yes” of course and 2 years later they got married.
What do you love most about eachother?
She said: I love the way he loves me. when there is chaos in my life he brings structure and kindness into it. His love for me is devoted and unconditional. He is loving, strong, steady, confident, creative and a little imp. Oh and as you can see he is also handsome – oh so handsome!
He said: Her creative way to live and how she always challenges me to think in different ways. And she is obviously the most beautiful woman in this world.
What have you learned in your years of marriage?
Already during our engagement we learned that a relationship is fragile when it’s not built on more. To believe in God and to love each other even during times when this love is challenged and emotions change or fade. We are both blessed with families who have taught us never to give up on your marriage and to find the greatest treasure on earth in it.
“The Song of Songs 8:6-7 - Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.”
