How did you two meet? Tell us your story.

I was 19 years old and working at the Gap during college, Ben was a new hire and I was seriously smitten the first time I saw him. He was working in the middle of the store, I went up to him, asked him his name, introduced myself, asked him his age, and he replied, “I’m 26.” I said, “You’re so old, you could be my grandpa!” Okay, not really, but to a 19 year old that was old. Then I just walked away. I thought he was cute and he thought I was sassy, and so our friendship (and flirting) began…

What do you love most about each other?

I love how we are both so similar. We rarely fight because we agree on most everything. I always say he’s the boy version of me and I’m the girl version of him.

What have you learned in your years of marriage?

Don’t be afraid to point out each other’s faults (in a loving way). It’s also good and necessary to have a community of friends to share life with. It makes you feel not so alone when you go through crazy (and funny) marriage and parenting moments.
