What is your favorite thing to do as a family?

My favorite thing to do as a family is play outside, exercise together. I love running beside my oldest son Zachary while he is riding his bike with his cute little training wheels on. I love when Joe and I go out for a run and he pushes the double stroller, with Zach and Layla in it and I push the single stroller with Baby Matt in it. Exercise and outdoor play is very important to Joe and I. Or just playing in the backyard, running around, just being out in the sun and being active.

What’s your favorite family tradition?

I grew up with lots of family traditions. One of the traditions that I grew up with that we do in my family is to drive around our neighborhood with Christmas music playing in the car and looking at all the amazing and magical sparkling, Christmas lights in our Pajamas. In CA we rode our bikes as kids but since we live in Utah where there is snow on the ground we drive. I love the seeing the lights sparkle in my children’s eyes and how excited when they see a house that went all out! After we are done driving around we come home and drink hot cocoa with marshmellows in it and read a special Christmas book.

What do you think makes a happy family?

I think what makes a happy family is lots of LOVE and lots and lots of LAUGHTOR. Being a military family can cause lots of stress not only on the parents but as well as the kids. It’s important to remember to slow down a little and to take a time out and put your family first when you are home all together. Hug, Kiss and tickle each other. Spending time together is most important, dishes can wait.
